Don Graham is the author of several award-winning books, including Kings of Texas: The 150-Year Saga of an American Ranching Empire (Wiley), Lone Star Literature: From the Red River to the Rio Grande (Norton), and Giant Country: Essays on Texas.
Graham is the J. Frank Dobie Regents Professor of American and English Literature at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received the 2006 Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of Texas at Austin. With a tenure at UT surpassing thirty years, Graham is a leading authority on Texas literature and culture. He is a frequent contributor to Texas Monthly and other publications.
He received his undergraduate degree in English from North Texas State University in 1962 and his doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin in American literature in 1971.
